You know you need more clients for your landscaping business. But what’s the best way to go about getting them?

These days, it seems like there are more marketing “options” than ever – but it can be difficult to figure out which marketing companies and which advertisers will actually work for you. It’s hard to know who you can trust!

I get it – and that’s why today, I’m going to break down two popular marketing channels and give you my recommendations.

Google Ads or Facebook Ads – which one should you use?

Let’s break it down.

Google Ads for Landscapers

Google Ads are primarily listings that show up when someone is searching for something on Google. RIght now, if you open up another browser window and search for “landscapers,” you’re probably going to see paid advertisements at the top of the page. They’re easy to identify because they’re labeled ‘Ad’ on the left-hand side of the listing.

Google Ads are great because they show up when your potential customer is actively looking for help. If someone types “lawn maintenance” into Google, there’s a very high likelihood that they are actively searching for a business to hire.

So, Google Ads put your business in front of prospective customers at the best possible time – when they’re actively searching for landscaping help.

The downside is that they can be expensive. You get charged a few dollars every time your ads are clicked on, and it can add up quickly. Of course, as long as you’re generating clients from your ads, it’s well worth it. But you have to pay attention so that you don’t waste your marketing dollars – or, you can work with a partner like LeadScape that can manage it for you.

Facebook Ads for Landscapers

Facebook is the world’s most-popular social network, and many of your prospective customers are active users.

That said, when someone is actively searching for a landscaper, they’re going to a search engine – not Facebook.

That means Facebook is a great place to build your brand and show off your portfolio. It’s an opportunity to build name-recognition and relationships with past and current clients.

It’s not likely to generate leads as frequently or as quickly as Google Ads.

The Verdict

So… which should you choose?

The answer is both – if you’re serious about building your landscaping business.

Facebook Ads create powerful brand awareness and market positioning.

Google Ads generate leads.

Facebook is a long-term strategy that can pay off huge dividends as you build your brand.

Google is great for short-term client acquisition.

There’s significant value in both places. But as always, it’s important to work with a marketing partner that you can trust – because it’s easy to waste a lot of money on ad campaigns that aren’t structured properly.
